Learn More About The Omron HR-100C Heart Rate Monitor…

At just $33.00, the HR 100c Omron Heart Rate Monitor watch is one of the most popular cheap chest heart rate monitors currently available on Amazon.

A heart rate monitor device is a useful tool if you seek a way of tracking just how hard they are working out.

Studies have shown that if you push too hard, or not enough in your runs, rides or activity of choice, you are not achieving your optimal level of fitness and in the worst cases, could be setting yourself up for a painful injury.

By regularly monitoring your heart rate activity you can keep a close eye on how well your body is holding up over your day to day fitness regime. Even if you workout at the same pace each day, on some days you will naturally be more tired than on others. A heart rate monitoring sport watch can help you stay aware of your optimal workout zone, no matter how you are traveling on a particular day.

Perhaps the thing that makes the Omron HR 100 C watch so popular (and other heart rate monitors less so), is the fact that it is so easy to wear and easy to program.

Fitness experts recommend that in order to achiever your optimum level of fitness, you should ensure your heart rate falls within 65 and 85 percent of your maximum rate for 20 minutes duration or more. The Omron HR-100C makes this easy by sounding an alarm whenever you fall below or rise above this ideal heart rate zone.

The Omron heart rate monitor includes a chest transmitter belt that transmits your heart rate information wirelessly to the wristwatch. The watch includes a ventilated wrist strap and backlight feature that is particularly handy when exercising at dusk or at night.

Electronic features include a daily reminder alarm, time of day display and 2x pre-installed lithium batteries. The watch is also water resistant to 30 meters and features a mounting bracelet that makes it a breeze to use with exercise equipment or a bike. When delivered, your watch will come packaged with a zippered storage case, Omron HR 100c manual and you are covered by a 1 year manufacturer’s kimited warranty.

After reading some Omron HR 100c heart rate monitor reviews on Amazon I was struck by the fact that the heart rate chest strap – a component of these watches that people oftern worry about (due to expected discomfort), is not nearly as noticable as one would expect.

I also picked up that the chest strap batteries can be changed without returning the strap to the manufacturer – a feature not supported by many major heart rate monitor makers.

Another reviewer suggests that you sometimes need to be sweating a lot for the chest strap to accurately pick up your heart beat. Note, that this is a common (and unfortunate) complaint with heart rate monitor chest straps in general and not a reflection of the Omron watch.

This heart rate monitor can also be disrupted by other heart rate monitor equipment. To completely elliminate this problem, we recommend a heart rate monitor strap capable of digital FM transmission – this will cost a bit more. In terms of cheap, entry-level heart rate monitor equipment however, we can’t recommend the HR 100c Omron watch enough.

recently I saw this “high end” Omron at Walgreen’s and thought I’d give it a spin. Its primary allure: it claims to be so sensitive that you don’t need to wear it on a belt or some other outer wear. Just drop it in your shirt pocket or purse and forget about it.
